Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to my blog. The intent of this blog is to allow you to kind of get to know me as an Etsy seller, but outside of the Etsy world. In my blogs I will express feelings (aww), thoughts, frustrations, etc. about my journey to becoming my own boss. Thanks for stopping by!

Conundrum

Ok, I have my shop on Etsy. But I know of an actual store in my area where I can pay $6/square foot for a "booth" and sell my stuff. So, my dilema is: Do I try to sell what I have in my Etsy shop at the other store? Or should I split up my stuff and sell some items on Etsy, and other items at the store? I would just hate for someone to order a necklace off my Etsy shop, but then have someone already buy it from the store in my area, thus ending up having to cancel the Etsy order. Make sense?

I know essentially nothing about owning my own business. I know I need to come up with new necklace designs, because I really don't have that many; just what's in my Etsy shop. But right now on Etsy, I'm only targeting a certain group: other sellers on Etsy. I mean how many people that buy on Etsy don't have their own shop? I've seen people that signed onto Etsy in 2008 and already have over 2000 sales. I want that. If I could turn this into somewhat of a money maker, this would literally be the perfect job for me. I have social anxiety as it is, so this would just be perfect for me. I just have to learn to be patient and not get down on myself. I have yet to make a sale, but it just takes the right person at the right time to find something in my shop that they like.

My pastor recently said something in his sermon about how if you pray for God to give you patience...that you won't like how that is done. God will give you situations that will force you to develop patience, and you might not like the process. Argh!
